London, Philadelphia, and Edinburgh are three unique cities with rich histories, charm, and allure that played a significant role in shaping the literature and history of 1771. The unique cultural and social influences of each city contributed to the development of the arts and sciences stands at the forefront of the cultural revolution of the time.

London

In 1771, London is the expansive metropolitan center of finance, trade, commerce, shipping and all other forms of business, including publishing, and one of the most powerful engines of imperial power in the West.

Philadelphia

In 1771, Philadelphia was one of the largest North American port cities, international hub of commerce and point of entry for immigration into North America.

In 1771, Edinburgh is Scotland’s largest city and one of its legal, cultural, and political centers.
